How to Clean Your Glass Shower Doors Without Strenuous Scrubbing

How to Clean Glass Shower DoorCleaning windows is easy enough. You spray them with a glass cleaner, wipe them down with a cloth or paper towel, and voila!—they sparkle just like new.Unfortunately, cleaning glass shower doors is not quite as easy. Why? Because of a little thing called soap scum. The inside of your glass shower doors—and even the walls if you have a full-glass shower enclosure—are regularly dowsed with soapy water every time somebody showers, and over time this can cause a film to build up. While this soap scum film can be quite stubborn, getting it off is much easier if you use the right concoction and the right tools.

Work Smarter, Not Harder!

To clean your glass shower doors, all you’ll need is water, distilled white vinegar, a microwave-safe bowl, a spray bottle, and a lint-free cloth. Once you’ve gathered all of your supplies, follow these steps:

  • First, combine three parts water and one part vinegar in the microwave-safe bowl. Microwave the mixture for one minute and then let it sit for a few minutes. Once it has cooled, pour the mixture into a spray bottle.
  • Next, spray the water and vinegar mixture onto your glass shower doors and let it sit for about five minutes. This will allow the vinegar to react with the soap scum and loosen it up so that it’s easier to remove.
  • When five minutes have passed, use the lint-free cloth to wipe the shower doors dry, starting from the top and working down. You should see the beautiful shimmer of your glass shower doors start to return before your very eyes!
  • Lastly, leave your shower doors open to allow any residual moisture to evaporate from the surface of the glass.

Now that your shower doors are sparkling, it’s time for the final step—sit back and relax! We hope that this simple tutorial will help you keep your glass shower doors looking their best without having to scrub and scour until your arm feels like it’s going to fall off.
